Culinary ProgramsLenexa, home of The Art Institutes International - Kansas City, is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area of nearly two million people. Kansas City's contributions to jazz and the blues are well-known - it also has over 200 fountains and more boulevards than any other city except Paris. The region is anchored by four Fortune 500 companies, the Kansas City Orchestra, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and major league football and baseball teams.

Culinary Programs Offered:

Baking & Pastry
In the Baking & Pastry program, you’ll gain hands-on baking skills. Emphasis is placed on fundamental pastry and bread-baking techniques, in addition to all-purpose baking, desserts, cake decoration, and pastry arts. To complement your culinary techniques, you’ll learn critical thinking and business essentials. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as line cook and pantry cook (garde manger).

Culinary Arts
In the Culinary Arts program, you’ll have an opportunity to gain practical experience in the kitchen while studying the business of cost control, sanitation and safety, menu and beverage management, nutrition, and kitchen management. You’ll have an opportunity to learn to produce food quickly and in quantity while working with others. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as line cook and pantry cook (garde manger).
